1989 Jeep Wrangler ignition

I have just purchased a 1989 Jeep Wrangler that has a 4 1/2 inch skyjacker lift with a 1 inch body lift with a swapped in 4.0L from a 1993 Grand Cherokee. The keys I was given are GM ignition keys, did the factory use GM ignition in that year or was that steering column swapped in by the previous owner as well?

The steering column is supposed to be the same as one used in an Chevy S-10. Could be they put a new lock or even a whole new steering column in it from an S-10.

BTW I have original keys and they both say Jeep on them.

Just Everyone Else's Parts

GM steering column, Ford Ignition System, AMC Engine, Chrysler Transmission.

It's the original column.

BTW My '68 Commando had the buick dauntless V6, original from the factory!
