1987-1991 Dash 1992-1995 Dash

I know that the 1987-1991 have different dash lights and display than the 1992-1995. When i was looking around on e-bay, i seen a 1991 with waht looked to be tha same style as the newer YJ. My 1991 islander had the older style, same as my old 90. My 92 had the good style. Is this just a Canadian thing? Did US Wranglers have the good dash lighting the whole time?

define "good" dash .. my '88 has a good dash (I don't see anything wrong with it)

I just meen that in Canada, the 1987-1991 had the worse of the 2 style's of dash lighting and colors. I think the 1992-1995 is much better and was wondering what style the US [ Wrangler] had. I guess i mean dash display.

I think yours is either green or is supposed to be white but looks green too my eyes at night. Thts what my 91's looked like anyway

The dash bulbs in my 90 had blue filter type things on them. I took them all off and my dash looks much brighter.

Yeah, i dont know. Where were the bulbs located?

You have to pull out the guage cluster for the center guages, the lights are mounted in plastic sockets that you twist to remove. Pretty self explanatory if you just dig into it. You might want to disconnect your neg bat terminal so you dont short anything out. I didnt remove it, but somebody here on the forum did....guess it is better to play it safe than sorry.

I should be getting a 1992-1995 with the dash and roll-bar I like soon, unless i get a truck or something. I should be getting a Jeep. I can only afford a YJ Right now, well i could get another XJ. I have had 3 YJ'S and 1 XJ. 2 91's, 1 90 and a 92.

Mine had blue lamps .. when I re-did the dash I pulled the blue covers making them white .. it's a lot brighter now ..

yeh uhu uhh i think i am going to get white faces, thats the only one thats better than stock in my opinion.
