16 inch grand cherokee wheels on yj

Looks like it should work. Will it.? Tire man says 16's are beter and more available than 15's

I don't know why having a wheel size of 16 is better than say 15...but maybe someone knows that one. I can't think of any advantages.

About the wheel fitting, it depends on what year they came off of. Grand Cherokees from '93-'98 (ZJ) will fit as they have the same bolt pattern as YJ's (5 on 4.5"). From '99 on they changed bolt patterns. So if they're from a ZJ, you're good.

generally 16" tires are more expensive, and don't come in flotation sizes (i.e 33x12.50R15). you can get metric sizes that are close to equivalent, but for example a 265/75R16 is going to be considerably more expensive than a 31x10.50R15.
