1,2,3,5th gears in my yj transmission roar and rattle loudly
1,2,3,5th gear in my 1991 yj roar and rattle very loudly when i am going down the road but fourth gear does not make any noise at all.the jeep still drives and everything but i don't want to drive it any more than i have to i don't want to mess anything up. can any one tell me what is going on. would it be a cluster shaft, bearing or what. and it really sucks because i just got the jeep.

Worn out ax-5 tranny. Could last years that way or months depending on how you drive.
