that ford is a "raptor" and yes they are pretty bad *** but NOOO thats not the market the jeep truck will be targeting with their truck. the jeep truck will comp. with light to mid-sized trucks (dodge has the power wagon to comp. with the raptor, even though thats kinda apple to orange ) such as tacoma canyon and dakota. Im a salesman for Chrystler dodge jeep in texas, specializing in jeep and thats my MO

But seriously, I can't remember the last time I even saw a new Dakota on the road. It's got to be last in class or something.
the dakota sells for just a couple grand less than a full size RAM and gets no better gas milage so 9/10 people just bump up th the RAM

Take a guess how many Brute kits have been made and sold. Here's the actual number-as of a year and a half ago, 200 Brute kits had been made and just over 100 sold. Considering I can think of half that many Brute show trucks, I'd hardly call that booming demand. The Brute kit is definitely an expensive niche vehicle, but the Gladiator isn't going to be a volume seller.

Right now, the Tacoma sells around 8000 units a month. It's not going to outsell the Tacoma-the Tacoma is a far more versatile vehicle (In terms of options-cab sizes, bed lengths, ect). The Gladiator will be lucky to break 50,000 units a year, in all likelihood. Worth building, definitely, but Chrysler has bigger problems right now.

Wouldn't it make the most sense to make an individual cab and bed in jk style and stick it on a ram chassis? i mean as long as they put d44s under both ends and an engine with some power and torque under the hood.

Well, it's a definite "probably" from Chrysler as of the 14th. http://www.leftlanenews.com/mopar-je...ectations.html

Probably won't see it until 2016. New Wrangler should appear around 2014-2015. They will likely use 100% capacity to supply demand for the 2 dr and 4 dr Wrangler the first couple of years before expanding the models that are offered.

Whether it is a Jeep pickup or a diesel Wrangler they always seem to be just 5 years away. But they have been saying that for 15 years.

1st one- 1989 Cherokee Laredo. 12 great years
2nd one- 2001 Cherokee Limited. Got it before they were gone.

this is an even worse comparison than apples to oranges, this is like comparing apples to a hermit crab. The brute hasn't gone like gang busters because its $9000 plus a **** ton of man hours to make one. if the Brute was offered as a factory truck with similar pricing to a Wrangler, then they would be selling like hot cakes.

2012 JKU Black, Soft Top. Next mods are a 2.5" lift, 35" Tires, and either 4.10 or 4.56 gears.

May as well just get this from AEV, when they start selling them and if you can afford it... No price tag yet.

The JK Brute is $20,000 + a JKU.
