Gladiator greenlighted!!!!

Wrangler based pickup greenlighted!

Its about time! Somebody is actually listening to us.

Autoblog

Pickuptrucks.com

"Heavily based on the Gladiator concept"

Looks like I may reconsider my decision to purchase a new 5.0L 'stang when I graduate next year!

P.S. I saw the other thread but it was based on a previous, less sure Autoblog article. I feel this deserves its own thread!

it needs a lot of work. i think the soft top is dumb, and whats with the chrome? and not to mention look at the engine bay its impossible to get into. and the spare tire location????

thanks Jeep, nice try, but I'll stick with my ZJ, and look at dodge Rams if need be

You do realize that the Gladiator is a 5 year old concept? By based on the Gladiator I believe they mostly mean it will be based on the JK. The JK didn't get the soft top so I'm not really expecting the truck to. I'll be you anything spare tire location will change because of fuel economy. Chrome is an option and will never be standard lol.

And thats the first time I've ever heard anyone say a ZJ was easier to work on than a Wrangler. Just sayin.

Gladiator Rubi with diesel and 6 speed. I will pre-order, pay up front now! This should be a "no brainer" for Jeep to build this thing. They could not build them fast enough to keep them on the lot.

Given the lost law suit against AM-G over grills

I don't see them producing the there tribute 715er, as AM-G built many AM715's . . . Tribute is fine but an actual production Rig might just inspire another round of law suites

Altho it was CryCo that sued AM-G so maybe AM-G don't really care about the past and are only looking to the future . . . as they didn't start the fight

Stick to the gladiator concept but put a removable hardtop on it like the old scramblers. If this comes out for real in 2012 I will be trading inmy 2010 JK

I'd buy one if it comes with a diesel and 6spd manual. No manual trans, no purchase! I'd buy a 4-door Wrangler today if it had the diesel and a 6spd manual!!!!

Well if they offer a pick up truck, it'll 2 firsts for me . . . my first New truck and my first CryCo Jeep !

I'll be excited to see how it stack's up against the AMC V8/5spd/4.10 MJ in performance & towing ability . . .
