Next Generation Wrangler, Coming 015.

The next-generation wranglers are coming late 014 ,for model year 015 , and the model year 014 wrangler ( late 013 ) will get aerodynamic touches and possible 8 speed transmission.

You should now let Chrysler/Jeep know, what you want in the next generation Wranglers 015 to 021. They are in its design stage now!

I'm new here, but I'm guessing you work for Jeep?

I want better aerodynamics while maintaining the classic look(cake and eat it too).

The 8 speed tranny would be awesome as well.

But, who knows what Fiat will decide to do with the actual 4x4 abilities of the Jeep.

Well, considering they got rid of the 2WD option on JKs, I'll remain optimistic.

So are you finally going to replace that YJ? :D

I hope they plan to keep the solid axles.

chandlerr 05-03-2012 04:29 PM

v8... nah scratch that, since this is all wishful thinking, v10

while we're at it, a better cage would be sweet even if only an upgrade/rubicon option.... been wanting a through the dash cage in my jeep for years but never took the plunge

Update on the 014 model year wrangler:Solid-axles,Hose-ready interior, may be updated transfer-case, bringing back a full-time setting and later a wrangler pick-truck version.

Note: let Chrysler/Jeep know what you want changed or added, to the next generation wrangler?

1.) Both a Hemi AND a Cummins diesel option.

2.) Beefier axles.

3.) Seats that are a bit more competition inspired, by that I mean seats you would find in a rock buggy or a baja rig. But not completely, hence the words "competition inspired". For example, the Toyota Tacoma Prerunner edition has bigger thigh and side bolsters to hold you in the seat better, that's what I mean. A lot more comfortable too.

4.) Doing away with the little push button thing on the door handle. Not as ergonomic as a regular door handle that pulls to open the door.

5.) Different roll cage options. Such as bringing back the sport bar as an option.

6.) Allowing the new Wrangler to be fully customizable from the factory, not just certain packages offered with x part or y option.

Those six things alone, if made available on the new Jeeps... granted they don't look hideous either, would seal the deal on me buying another Jeep. That would probably be a big thing for a lot of other people too.

Repower:
1. give us the turbodiesel Jeep has been promising for decades. The small Cummins from auto shows years back would be nice, or something with 320+ ft-lbs from VM Motori, or Fiat will also suffice, with a 6 speed manual and optional 5+ speed auto. Should be B20 or better biodiesel compatible, or at least easily converted with an Mopar add-on package.
2. Dual fuel CNG/gasoline engine like the new Dodge trucks.

and there can't be a major price penalty for those engine options either. if you don't make it affordable nobody is going to buy it.
