it's really driving me nuts with all these concepts with v8's in em, yet none actually go into production.

You can squeeze a V8 under the hood but the current Wrangler does not offer the space needed for such an installation to pass federal crash standards. It is unknown if the next Wrangler will have the room or not.

My guess is that Jeep will try to put the Wrangler on some sort of weight loss program before giving it more cylinders. Then of course the question will be if a lighter Wrangler will be strong enough to hold up to off roading. Technically Jeep has no incentive to provide a vehicle that is strong enough for bigger and heavier aftermarket parts.

Yeah, I did get to be out on the trail with MOPAR. I didn't get to drive them but it was cool to check them out being used.

It's kinda cool to see the logo of the company you work for on the concepts.

It's awesome when the owner of the company you work for rolls up with Mark Allen in the Mighty FC to your condo!

i want the j12.

mikeg576 04-21-2013 07:09 AM

I got to do some talking with the guys that build these. Stitch is just super light. It's obviously running bigger meats and lift.

mikeg576 04-21-2013 07:10 AM

The J12 is awesome. I want the NuKizer!!!

I love the Mighty FC, J8 and any Wrangler with a Hemi...Jeep already has a kit for the JK8 pickup...if they were smart, theyd bring back the old days of making the frame and running gear as a basis for custom coach work. Then they could make kits for the Hemi and FC bodies, and pretty much anything else they wanted. Assemble them to customer spec at a dealer contractor site and voila: a custom taylor made rig with factory warranty and first party build quality. These could be titled as kit cars which would be a major FU to the feds! So in theory, any so-called crash standards the Hemi and FC wouldnt pass would be null and void. Id be willing to bet you could get exemption from the emissions standards and skip the made-to-fail catalytic converters as well.

If the stitch does then they should call it. The Wranler, it has no future. If they want light then go carbon fiber. But Hey make the sides out of Denim and bring back the Levi's Jeep made of Denim. Should do well at the malls....

All of those are wicked. I can't wait for my first Moab.
