New Jeep Mini

The new Fiat 500x is the sister to the Mini jeep code name B-SUB, will be Trail Rated, have the jeep grill and round head lights, and packed whit premium features. Also a cross over Fiat 500L is coming ,at this time all engines Gas, CNG and Diesel are around 100 HP, and all are smaller than the Compass/Patriot. The jeep will be true jeep said Manly . Fiat said the price for Fait 500L cross over, is said to start around 15,550 Euros or around $14,000 US ?( I don't think so )

Have your say

I guarantee it won't be that cheap in the US. And that it won't come with a 100hp engine.

And that it'll be safer than any TJ.

I like it... Sure better looking than some of the other Jeep crap-mobiles they have been building.

That pic is an old concept one if I recall correctly, and not anything to do with current planning as far as I know. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Look at all the Rav4s and Kia "soft-roaders" that are being sold. I would be happy for Jeep to have a decent entry in that niche.

That's the Willys II concept from 2001.

I think the concept looks better than the '14 Cherokee. That at least looks like a Jeep.

I too like the approach angles, the rocker guards, and although it is kind of vulnerable in the sides to dings and scratches,
what is a Jeep without trail pinstripping?

That WillysII concept isn't ever going to be produced, but I could see a ruggedized Fiat500 type thing as a pretty cool vehicle - kinda like those 2 door first generation Rav4's - those weren't very handsome and they didn't have low range but they'd still take a couple of people down just about any dirt road to hiking trails or other adventures. As long as they keep it small and don't ruin the feature of smallness.

As a TJ owner I'd like to see two things come from Jeep, the First is a large JKU sized pickup, and the second is this mini wrangler.

I sit in my TJ and think that I could shave off at least 5 inches in width, and I'm 5'11 245 so not the smallest guy around. I also run it without back seats and have found that I'd have no problem with a permanent two seater. So I'd have no problem decreasing the back end by 2 feet. Now the front is interesting as I'd like to have a small diesel, and I'd really like to shave a foot or so off the front however that'd be decided based on engine layout.

So here is where we are at:

Overall length = 119"
Overall width = 61"

Now from a height standpoint, IDC however I do want the same ground clearance that we get in the TJ. I also want solid Axles still and stock dana44's or equivalent. I couldn't see a need for more than 120 HP, but would like say 250 ft lbs of torque. Thats what I want from mini jeep. Hell take a samurai and slap some circle headlights on it and I'd be happy.
