So they don't make it yet, nor is it available, but it costs 55,000???? I have been waiting so long for a truck that I think I am actually over it and won't buy one now. I have officially ran out of patience.

this is old news, they have been selling the JK-8 kits for a couple months now. a lot of dealerships are buying the kits and installing them and then charging through the nose, the kit itself is around $6-7k.

2012 JKU Black, Soft Top. Next mods are a 2.5" lift, 35" Tires, and either 4.10 or 4.56 gears.

It's hardly charging out the nose for it, when it needs about 20 man-hours of labour to install, not to mention a paintjob and some rhino-liner.

Just looked it up, $5500 for the kit, most of these are being built on Sport models, so we'll say $30,000 for the Jeep, so $20,000 for install, paint and bedliner? that seems pretty steep to me, but maybe that is just my blue collar background talking.

I am a salesman at the dealership where this picture comes from. I thought I'd add that this is was a Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited, so that accounts for it being costlier than a sport as H2Osquirter mentioned and as Maruader mentioned, there is a lot of labor in converting a 4 door to a two door pickup including removing a lot of roll cage and the liner.

That may be, but I still don't see a $20k markup being anything near reasonable.

Not a 20k markup. dealer stated rubicon, so you know he is already charging 38-40k for that (or more if dealer is as bad as most of them). so its 15k markup.

still over priced and only few will be sold that will probably never see offroad.

For that kind on money I think I'd be looking at the AEV Brute. They are a proven conversion, and quite stylish I think. Jeep just dosen't seem to want to get it together to start building the Gladiator again. What a mistake!
