I know it was from several years ago (1998) so really isn't a future model or prototype but where else can I post this? Anyway, I really liked the idea of the Jeep off-road sports car when it debuted and still do... am I alone? Probably...
I really liked thinking that the 4.7L V8 from the Jeepster would one day end up in the TJ... of course, that never happened either.

Wow, I really don't get the point in that thing. Is it a sports car? Why is it a Jeep? Why is Jeep making a sports car? I'm so confused but I would take it off some sweet jumps. Lucky!

i would take that off some dunes that'd be awesome. It seems like a cool concept, i'd pimp it. But i wouldn't trade my tj for it.

I have a picture of a sketch that was in an early Liberty intro brochure. The sketch has the front of the Jeepster on an altered Cherokee (XJ). One persons idea of what the Liberty could have looked like. I think the picture looks good and I would have bought a vehicle that looked like that. The Jeepster front look inspired the front of the Compass concept. Too bad they didn't stick with that look instead of the swollen cheek look of the Compass.
The original Willys Jeepster from the 1940's was a 2 wheel drive roadster. Sounds a lot like the Jeepster concept.

My brother had one of those AMC SX/4 cars, with a 3" lift and big tires on it. It looked bad ***, ... 25 years ago. It had lots of problems though, and would break pretty routinely when used off road.
That Jeepster concept could make a nice pre-runner for the desert.

I loved the 98 concept wouldof bought one if they had put it in production. Been looking at the 52 jeepster rare v6 over the weaker 4 banger. Just dont need another project jeep right now already restoring one.
