I realy like the The Jeep® Trailhawk.
I wonder if they will do something similar with the wrangler.

Very cool!
Mitcher, thanks for the link to your blog! It's a great site!
Since the Trailhawk has the new JK Wrangler Unlimited's chasis, I think DC/Jeep have big plans for this platform. After seeing the YouTube video on your blog, I'm even more convinced this may be some form of the new Grand Cherokee. Here's that video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc_oHmAatdc And a few others: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xe4mOQVzOU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLRuMhV7tDY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TolMfu9kDoY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_dKj-3ZVJ4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIyLPJITPWA ![]()

The video on youtube says it all
If you didn't watch the video posted above on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc_oHmAatdc go now. And then think about it. What does it show. A Jeep going fast down the highway, then going fast down a dirt road that you could go on with a 1985 tempo. Ya that's really what Jeep is all about. GET A CLUE DAIMLER/Chrysler.

Then what is the JK?
Since when is a concept an exact representation of a production model? Remember the Jeepster concept? I think the fact that the Trailhawk has the under-pinnings of the JK shows that DC knows the value Jeep owners place on off-road-ability. Granted, this is definitely a mall-crawler, but there is potential under the skin. This would probably be pretty cool like my illustration with a lift and big meats. What off-road enthusiast doesn't modify their rig anyway? Additionally, I think the Wrangler in any stock form other than the Rubicon looks weaker than the Trailhawk. I'm hoping this concept represents styling cues and a return of 2 live axles to the Grand Cherokee. It's probably also an experiment in Avalanche/H2 SUT-style SUVs. If it is actually a nearly-production-ready vehicle, whose only model will resemble the WK SRT-8, then I will be on board with the WTF? philosophy, because the JK will be the only TRUE Jeep left. I know it may be asking for a lot, but one can hope... ![]()

It was said right before! Its a CONCEPT! The concept of the ZJ looked pretty similar to production but was all molded and neet and looked like a back then version of this. This thing runs 33s stock. The bling bling will be toned down obviously and it really looks massively aggressive. But some mudders on it and your good to go without a lift. But again CONCEPT! The hurricane was awesome but never came out. And where is the Gladiator? This is probably just showing the eventual way the Grand May look like.
Also we all modify our trucks if we want to rock crawl. I wouldn't be rock crawling (no rocks in jersey.... ) But I'll be more than happy to only have to throw 33" boggers on it and play in the mud. I also kinda like the open air look, does need some tweaking, but again CONCEPT! I like where jeep is going with this concept. Maybe its a change of things to come. Away from the WK (which i think is fine with a lift) and the Patriot and Compass. (If i was actually looking for a crossover i would get those over most others but I'm not and never will...lol ) Anyways, I knda like the Trailhawk and hope to see some of its stylin' on the future Jeeps, just with more tweaking. And yes most people will be using it as a mall crawler, specially with those RIMS! Thats really the thing I don't like about it the most, is those friggin rims. Some smaller rims and knobby tires...that'd be sweet! |

This is a MEGA $$$$$$$ one of a kind, I can't see Jeep takin it on the Rubicon any time soon. On the other hand, you have companies like Toyota running ads where their RAV4 can apparently do everything a sandbuggy can right up to a ski hill groomer running on tracks. Also, it seems ok for every other company to show their SUV's just pulling off the road and crossing fields, racing up hills, creeks, etc but when Jeep does it you never hear the end of it from the tree huggers.
Anyway, based on the Wrangler the Trailhawk has the potential to be an awesome 4 wheeler. I guess it depends on who buys Chrysler. |
