110miles to the gallon! I saw this lil pup at the Denver Auto Show this weekend! It's actually very cool IMO, with the glass in the doors so you can see down, and 110miles to the gallon!?!?! that is redic.

I bet it would actually do very well off road too, for what it is it has very high ground clearance, and It's probably pretty light.

I love all the concept cars that claim outrages MPG. It's really easy to claim an engine will get that, especially without losing any performance. Building it seems to be the problem.

Personally, that thing looks like it belongs in the Baja 5000 or something. Pretty cool IMO.

The battery pack gets you the first 40 miles then the three cylinder diesel gets you the rest of those 110 miles. Still 70 mpg from the diesel is impressive. If it could stay lightweight and still meet federal safety standards.

This is awesome. I love these independent suspension buggy type vehicles. Perfect for bombing down a dirt road. If you want to rock crawl, there are plenty of other options!

I'd replace my Miata with one of these.

Look for a current brand Jeep limited edition , named the Renegade, could be a wrangler or Liberty ? It want look like the renegade in the pictures above in this topic, but more like a Moab Jeep if build .

The renegade concept has been around longer than the HK correct me if I'm wrong....unless you were trying to say the HK is a copy cat?

Actually, they both came out in 2008 as concepts and Hummer introduced the HX (not HK) first. When I started this now 2-year-old thread, I was looking for a healthy discussion about the future of both Jeep and Hummer and the types of technologies we could expect to see by comparing/contrasting these two vehicles. I think most people missed the point of my intensions.

But now, it's 2 years later and Jeep is owned by Fiat and Hummer by Geely Automobile of China. We won't see the Renegade, but we may still see the HX, also called the H4, especially with it's electric-hybrid system. I think the Renegade was more of another one of Jeep's exercises in design and technology only, while the HX was those things while also being production-ready. I would take an HX (or H4) in a heartbeat over the Renegade.

Too bad about the Renegade. Personally, I have an 07 Sahara and an 07 H3. They are both very functional and fun to drive. That being said..I will NEVER buy another Hummer if its made by the Chinese. I refuse to. All of my major purchases in life are strictly American made from now on. I wish we would all have that philosophy to keep OUR people working. I saved all of these pics though, all of them very cool and conversation makers.
