Hyundai trying to buy Jeep from Cerebus?

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/motoring/news/article.cfm?c_id=9&objectid=10543055

This story was printed today on the other side of the globe...

Any opinions? Where will it lead? Will I ever get my beloved JT? Will it run on rice?

what has this to do with you "getting your beloved tj"?
as far as i am concerned, if chrysler can't run a profitable business, then sell it to someone who can.
at least you would be pretty much guaranteed a company owning the jeep brand that knows how to sell cars, and back it up with good warranty and business sence.
if the jeeps are selling well now, dont count on anyone changing anything too soon. no one is going to buy a company that has a couple of proven prduct lines that sell, and do away with them. financial suicide.
IMO, jeep needs to be sold to a company that has a business head on its shoulders. clearly isnt the case now is it?
i wouldnt worry about it, hell may even lead to a drop in prices and a warranty that is worth the paper its written on!
as for the used market, i still cant figure you're comments on a tj out. what has the new ownership got to do with a 10+yr old model?

huh, i read that wrong too. i didn't think we're getting another jt. the comanche was it. not that i'd mind a brute style pickup.

I seriously hope this does not happen!!!! Hyundai and Jeep seriously do not mix, many do not take to that car company well....IMHO, it will be an embarrassment.
