Gas mileage est. for 2014 JGC?

Since the '14MY JGC is supposed to be out early '13 and have both the 8 speed transmission and a V8 with cylinder deactivation, anyone have an educated guess what knd of mileage that combo will yield?

Thanks,

john

2914 is wayy to far away to tell. We problably wont even be using gas. Sorry man.

Just kidding. Problably pretty good, but they need to make it more aerodynamic for real gains.

But then again, what do I know.

Right. And the 2014MY is supposed to get the 8 speed. With 8 speed and cyl deactivation it seems like the V8 might do OK as well.

Anyone have an educated guess?

Thanks,

-john

Given the MY2012 JGC 5.7L rating of:

14 city
20 highway

source

And the following note about the predicted fuel economy change in the Dodge lineup:

Quote:
Also available on the 2013 Ram is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Output has been nudged from 390 to 395 hp, while torque remains at 407 lb-ft. When mated with the TorqueFlite 8 transmission, the 2013 Ram with the Hemi V8 also will get at least 20 percent better mileage than its predecessor, according to Chrysler, thanks in part to the use of cylinder deactivation, stop-start technology and other fuel-efficiency advances.
source

I compute the following estimate for the MY2014 JGC w/5.7L v8 and 8 speed:

16.8 city
24 highway
21.67 "combined" (calculation source)

-john
