I don't think it's possible for anything to be as bad as a GM J-body

He's an angel dressed in oilskins; he's a saint in the "Sou'wester,"
He's a pluck as they come, or ever can;
He's a hero born and bred, but it hasn't swelled his head,
For he's just the U.S. Government's hired man.

Sorry, but I'm going to one up you there.

GM X cars.

Google it, they rusted on the way from the factory to the dealer. That family of GM cars is what single handedly turned over their dominant market share to Japan.

To all of the people saying that this is not a Jeep... I hate to tell you but you're straight up wrong. Anything that Jeep wants to put a Jeep badge on is a Jeep. If Jeep made a motorcycle, guess what, it'd be a Jeep.

What I think you mean to say is, "it's not a Jeep wrangler", and you'd be right there. When people think of a "real Jeep" they think of the wrangler, but that's not all Jeep is. If they stopped changing the cj in the '70s and never built another type of vehicle, they wouldn't be in business anymore. To say this isn't a real Jeep is idiotic, of course it's a real Jeep. It's just not a wrangler, it's not intended to be.

Am I happy that they are calling it a Cherokee? Not really. Mostly because in a year or two I'm gonna have to deal with people saying, "cool I drive a Cherokee too" and I'm gonna have to tell them it's not the same. But it is most certainly a Jeep brand vehicle, legally no changing that fact.

Good for you!

There's always people out there with ridiculous ideas.. Same type of people believe Sandy Hook was staged and 9/11 was an inside job. No matter what you say people always will believe what they want.

For those who haven't seen it yet, [url=http://ca.autoblog.com/2013/02/23/2014-jeep-cherokee-gets-official-in-a-hurry/]the 2014 Cherokee is here.[url]

FWD-biased, but with a true low-range gearbox, a selection of 4- and 6-cylinder engines, possibly with turbocharged versions of both, and potentially a future diesel option. Fuel economy around 23/32 MPG. Size and pricing between the current Patriot/Compass and the Grand Cherokee.

No, it's not. If you'd go look, you'd realize.

The Cherokee and Grand Cherokee are two completely seperate vehicles, and always have been.

The current Grand Cherokee is the Grand Cherokee WKII, an evolution of the previous-generation WK platform, introduced in 2010 for MY2011, the first vehicle born of the Chrysler/Fiat partnership and the first use of the 3.6L Chrysler Pentastar V6. It is being refreshed for MY2014, featuring an updated front fascia and interior and a new 3.0L VM Motori diesel engine.

The 2014 Cherokee KL is the segment replacement for the 2002-2012 Jeep Liberty, which spanned two generations, the KJ and KL. It is based off the Chrysler/Fiat C-Wide platform, an enlarged version of the C-Evo platform that premiered with the Alfa Romeo Guiletta and came to North America first with the Dodge Dart. The KL is an all-new vehicle for 2014, but recycling the name of the Jeep Cherokee, which stretched two generations between 1974 and 2001, the SJ and XJ platforms.

You're thinking of either the now-defunct Jeep Liberty KK, which the Cherokee is replacing, or the refreshed Jeep Compass MK, which will be replaced in 2015 and slots below the Cherokee.

Nevermind, you edited your post lol.

Anyways, every time Jeep comes out with something new or an update, Jeepers complain about it not being a real Jeep. While that may be true, in order to survive, as many have already noted, Jeep needs to cater to the masses. The masses will most likely want a 2014 Cherokee. Not a 2001 Cherokee that is slightly modernized. All in all, if you don't like it; don't buy it.

You replied to the original post, which is about the 2014 Cherokee, and said "that is not the new Jeep." You the proceeded by posting a picture of the grand cherokee. Your post no longer shows this, but my reply has a copy of it before the edit. But it really doesn't matter at this point.

I'm sorry but the Pontiac Aztec takes the cake for ugliest vehicle ever or it's up there. Though I agree that Nissans as an accumulative whole are hideous as of late.
And this 'thing' is a close second. Aside from the friggin' grill bars and Jeep badge, this looks like it could have come out of any one of the car factories, North American OR 'over there'. I'm happy to have a pristine KJ CRD that I bought new, and tricked it up to run like it's supposed to after the warranty ran out. Not getting rid of it any time soon. Sorry Chrysler.

I was really looking forward to the redesigned Liberty, having a 2003 Liberty that is need of replacement. I gotta say, the frontend is aweful. The wife agrees. And I really want to like it, but..... I guess this puts the Forester XT at the top of the list for me.
