If Jeep became their own thing and just made Wranglers, Cherokees, Comanche/Gladiators, and put diesel engines in them...
There would be alot of YJs and TJs for sale on craigslist!

Ford is the only American car company not taking Government loans!
Those loans + interest must be payed back to us tax payer! Chrysler and GM must add that loan payment to price of each vehicle they sale. But Ford doesn't. So Ford will under sale the others companies until they go bankrupt. The best thing that can happen to Jeep is that Ford buys the brand. What do the other members think? Billions borrow + 10% interest for 10 years added to each unit soled = thousands on top units base price. Gm received 13.4 billion and asking for another 16.6 billion + 2 billion billion by end of March to keep the doors open. Chrysler received 4 billion and asking for another 5 billion, but said that sales are up and they think ,they Will make it until the market comes back. Chrysler is now saying its sales are up, and they think they will make it to the economy comes back! ReF: allpar.com, also take a look at the super-chip/ Jeep off road programmer!
Can the members say why Chrysler/Jeep, hadn't posted info and pictures on the 2010 Wrangler yet. Don't they start building them in June? ![]() |

I would be heartbroken if Jeep was split from Chrysler and bought by Toyota or Honda. I like the fact all the major components of my Grand Cherokee were built in the US. No matter how many cars they build here, profits from Toyota or Honda are always going to work their way back to Japan

Probably won't be much in the way of changes. Chrysler needs to spend every penny it can on small and mid size cars right now.

Honestly .. some of toyota's v6 powerplants amaze me .. my friend has a TRD V6 Tacoma and the acceleration on that thing is beastly for its weight and size, and to top it all off it still gets decent MPG. The thing was losing traction shifting from third to second gear .... made me a bit.. envious
![]() I'd love to see that in a jeep, or as someone else mentioned, the nearly bulletproof hilux platform engines.

Looks are all subjective-I think the F-150 looks amazing. I'd buy a Raptor in a heartbeat if I could afford one.
As for Jeep, the Commander will go with the current Grand Cherokee-it's built on the same wheelbase, but is being replaced in the lineup by a new Durango on the new GC's wheelbase. Compass is finishing out it's generation, then gone too. Patriot's sticking around, as it should, until 2013 at the very least-the Patriot EV is being released then. All Jeep models that currently have the 3.8L V6 will be getting the Pentastar (Formerly Phoenix) 3.6L V6 in late 2010 for the 2011 model year-it's reputed to be more powerful then the 4.7L V8 and more efficient then the 3.0L Mercedes diesel.

Jeep needs to keep the patriot around just to keep the average gas mileage ratings higher. Besides its a nice little urban Jeep.

The Durango is dead now-the plant is closed and whatever's left is being sold. The plant is being re-tooled for a 2011 or 2012 launch.
At least, according to Allpar and the new Chrysler product map. They may have killed it outright, I wouldn't shed a tear for it (I like the Commander more anyways)

I'd kill to get a chance to fly an actual B-26 Marauder. No, it's a reference from my days as a giant Battletech geek.
Although, for what it's worth, I am seriously considering trying to join the CFAF as a pilot when I finish university next summer.

There was always the AMC Eagle for the car. It was ugly, but could handle most things and was the first true AWD car.
