Not a lot of surprises there-suspension is staying largely unchanged, but we're finally losing the folding windshield-but, given how few of us still do that, it's not a huge lost, and I'm sure the aftermarket will provide for those that REALLY really want to.

One thing the article doesn't note is that we're probably getting a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder as the base engine option now, alongside the 3.6L V6 and, likely, the 3.0L diesel V6 we get in the Ram 1500 and Grand Cherokee.

If the specs on the rumored Hurricane 4cyl are to be believed, and it actually has 300hp, will there even be any reason for the 3.6 to be offered?

The article states that the windshield is raked back more, but that's kind of hard to see without side to side comparison. You have to look close to see it.

Cost, low-end torque and general poor perception of smaller turbo engines amongst a lot of the truck and SUV crowd (See backlash against the F-150 Ecoboost engines)

It's definitely got more windshield rake, but the longer hood and cowl is what I keep seeing. As for talk of engines, I think we might finally get engine options on the JL, but I've been out of the loop for too long to say whether the EcoDiesel will be viable, or the Hurricane is close enough to existing yet.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the slotted grill angled back near the top like the Cherokee.

This thread shows a front view with the hood opened, and it doesn't look like the grille's angled like the Cherokee: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f858/...hotos-3754825/

That's good then. I saw one somewhere on the interwebs with a angle similar to Cherokee. Glad that idea got squashed then.

Not as drastic as that, but the Shortcut concept at EJS is supposed to have hints at the next gen Wrangler, the grill and windshield are slightly laid back compared to the JK and the grill has..... Dimples(?) for the headlights like the old CJs

People have seen the prototypes said that the current versions have a 'crease' not unlike the YJ's grille, but with hints of old CJs in the headlights as well.
