Really?

Beyond the general wedge shape, I don't think so...

hmm that suspension doesn't seem to flex very well does it?

I do like how you can adjust the lift on the fly though, that's pretty wild.... toss in a hemi with some big tires and you'd have a capable machine.

Pricing

According to the NY Times:

Quote:
How much, how soon? The Jeep should closely match its current base prices of roughly $31,000-$46,000 when it goes on sale next spring as a 2011 model.

The more I see this jeep the more I like it. If I was going to get a street jeep it would probably the third gen GC (WK) and not this GC.

At first, I shat bricks when I saw it. I thought it was going to be an epic fail. But looking at it more, It's really going on me. And looking at it from a different point of view, it's exactly what chrysler needs to save them.

And since it is an update of an existing platform and not totally new many are saying it still uses the WK designation and not WL. I'm trying to find concrete proof of its designation.
No, it's not an update of the WK platform. As kenskis was alluding to, this is a NEW platform, as Automobile Magazine Online points out, "NOW shared with the Mercedes M-Class." Here's the article:

Air Lift suspension controlled on the dash - brilliant! Land Rover has been doing that for like ten years or more, good to see Jeep finally caught up!

mileage still sucks - 16/22 from a V6? Thats about the same as a 4.0L XJ...and a 4.7L V8 WJ gets 18/25

they need to start doing diesel and hybrid inexpensively....NOW.
