At first I didn't really like it, immediately made me think of the Buick Acadia, especially the rear. But after reading through this whole thread, the more I see it, the more I like it. There are some things that caught my attention.

-I don't like the black plastic around wheel wells.
-Chrome strips in the cargo area have got to go.
-Doesn't look like the rear glass lifts open?? Only the whole hatch.
-Don't like that the rear tail lights are horizontally shaped rather than vertically.
-Seats look much more comfortable than the WK seats.
-Don't like that the top of the dash is all flat. I feel it should have a "tray" or something to put things. Like the WJ and 09 Ram have.
-Wish the rear cup holders came out of the back of the console instead of in the fold down armrest. I like being able to easily access them from the drivers seat.
-Weird that the top is completely flat. I'm thinking that will change because most cars have some sort of "ridges" in the roof.
-I like that the rear, outside, front seat bolts have a plastic cover on them. No hole for crumbs and other crap to fall into like the WK.
-Rear seat heaters are nice.

I think that's it. Just things I noticed by looking through the many pictures in this thread.

Does anyone know what the other 'Overland' interior color schemes will be?

I like the equipment level on the Overland, minus the wood trim (I like leather, but not a fan of wood or chrome), but I've never liked the odd two tone color choices Jeep has offered with the leather options in the past.

A plain black or dark charcoal-colored interior with some brushed aluminum accents is nice; I.E. the existing SRT8 or cloth Laredo-type color scheme, but with leather and real aluminum.

Overall though, I really like everything about the new Grand Cherokee. The SRT8 renderings are really nice. I just hope they can retain the tow rating of the other models on the SRT8. If BMW can maintain a 6,000lbs rating on the 555hp X5 M model, I don't see why Jeep can't with an SRT8.

Lastly, I have to say I don't understand the 'it's not a real Jeep' crowd... Isn't that why they make the JK? Other than the CJ->YJ->TJ/LJ->JK models, I don't see any of the others as 'real Jeeps' in the offroad sense; the Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee and Commanders have always been a homologation of 'Land Rover-ish' intent; none are purpose-built 'military/off-road' vehicles. True, you can 'aftermarket' them into very capable offroad vehicles, but none of them were born with that as an abject directive. The new model will be much the same. They sell in suburbia, and suburbia writes checks. They fill coffers. (Ask Porsche - another company whose enthusiast base has given it holy he11 for 'non-core' products).

If you like the previous model better, buy a 2009/2010 model and enjoy! I bought a low mile '06 LJ because I liked the size better than the new JK's. I don't hate the JK's, I just liked the LJ package better. The new JK's are far outselling the TJ/LJ, so that's great - I still have what I want, because it's already been made!

For the future, though, the more money Jeep makes, the more money they have to give to the true off-road engineers within the company for development of future 'real Jeep' products and accessories.

Don't hate tha playa, hate the game, eh?

Just my .02

The chrome cargo strips that were on my '89 XJ Laredo is one thing I really miss on my '01 XJ Limited.

This Jeep is very luxurious looking, however i feel the back looks like a minivan. I think they tried to go to far away from the Jeep Roots and tried too hard to make it into a range rover.

Id take a WJ over it any day of the week.

WJ vs WL

I don't know...I think I can get past the Toyota-looking rear:

2010 4Runner vs 2011 Grand Cherokee

Speaking of Toyota...I think the new Grand is MUCH better-looking than the new 4Runner, although, to their credit, Toyota designers stayed away from the taillights extended onto the liftgate, so common to their other SUVs.

The Limited is FUGLY! It looks like a lame blend of the Highlander, Sequoia and the X-Terra (which I like):

The SR5 Sport with the Off-Road package is better, but the styling still looks clunky:

Ahhh...

That Toyota looks like the designer of the tail lights must have stock in a company that makes light guards. Those things stick out like on the FJ.

Man, the more I look at the new WJ, the more I like it...I'm still not sold on the exterior, although just adding some mud tires helps loads, but the interior...

I love the new 4Runner. It looks like a TRUCK. Edgy, chunky styling. The WL looks like a 90s marshmallow minivan. Of course I HATE the WJ too. MINIVANS YECHHH

The more and more I look at it, the more I want it. I honestly think this is the SUV that will give the GC it's reputation again by setting the mid-size SUV standard.

Edit: The new 4Runner looks awful, just like all of the other Toyota's. Looks like the designer built it out of legos.
