[WJ Freak]

Since we have to wait until March for the WL Grand Cherokee to be introduced at the New York Auto Show, here's the next best thing. Thanks to Brenda Priddy and Leftlanenews.com, here are new spy shots of the next gen Grand:





My version of the TrailHawk:



It's hard to see the resemblance to the TrailHawk, but according to the ones who saw it without camo, it shares many of the design cues from the 2007 TrailHawk Concept. Also of important news is they state it has an ALUMINUM FRONT AXLE! Although this is a new chassis, shared with the next Durango and the Mercedes M-Class, it sounds like Jeep decided to move on the positive response from the TrailHawk's JK chassis. If that photoshopped WJ-cum-TrailHawk pic was the real 2010 WJ, I'd whip out my checkbook and be instantly ready to sign on the dotted line. That looks gorgeous. Luxurious for wife, spacious for kiddies and kick*** macho for dad, all in one package. Who wouldn't luv that!!?? Hopefully the '10 WJ will truly be something closer to the 'Hawk concept and less like the current WJ, which frankly does nothing for me. (I prefer the previous generation body styling cues.)

Scroll down to the bottom of the article and click on the thumbnail to bring up a decent-sized photo.

It looks pretty nice, but it's no TrailHawk. Then again, it's rather hard to tell as it is just one pic, and the bland putty gray color doesn't lend itself to making the rig look very exciting. Maybe in hot rod red or a royal blue or other such color it maight look a bit more dynamic.

Can't wait until it makes its debut later this month in Chicago (or in April in New York).

You mean the current body-style, the WK, is the one you don't care for. I agree. With this new WL, it looks more like my WJ than the current WK. Thank God!

It'll be the New York show in April for the new WL. Of course the Chicago show is done, but it's a Jeep tradition to introduce them in New York. So, I'm glad to have this new insider pic to hold me over!

Blurgh. It looks like the WJ and the WK had a baby that hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down. That front end is awful.

I like the interior, though. Good to see they put the door handles back where God intended them to be.
