I test drove a TWO door JK with ONLY 10 miles on it!! I swear, my YJ with 224,000 miles on the 4.0, seemed to have more pick up then that 3.8!! I was really disappointed. BRING THE 4.0 BACK!!!!!!!

i test drove a jk rubicon and i test drove an jk x(only standard they had) and ive driven my friends moms jk sahara and all three seemed sluggish to me, so i would be infavor of either bringing back the 4.0(highly doubt it) or my personnal favorite which theyve already made a few for the military as prototypes which is CRD J8, you cant go wrong with those, dana 44 front dana 60 rear(i think) and a diesel engine

from my understanding, Im friends with the local jeep parts guy (as we pretty much all are).. Reno is the primary test zone for the Wranglers, and Chrysler brought up some 3.0 Diesel JK's to run the rubicon, and from what I understand they did exceptionally well and its more likely you'll see a Diesel JK before a Hemi.. But if you look on youtube, you can see some videos of 6.1L Wranglers..

I like how people are saying that they should bring back the 4.0, when they don't even realize that the 3.8 has more power and torque. If you put the 4.0 in a JK, it'd actually be even worse...

But you need to run the 3.8 at redline to get the extra horsepower. The 4.0 (and even the 4.2 with FI) produce a better horsepower/torque ratio at lower rpm's. Thats why it's better to swap in a diesel or V8 rather than a turbo charged 4 banger.
Marching or fighting, it all pays the same.
