If the lines are fairly new, they can be reused straight off the ZJ donor vehicle. If they show any signs of dry cracking, replace them with new. They are not that expensive, but oh, so critical, obviously.

I don't own an XJ any longer, but I still think they are the best of all the Jeep products ever made. My XJ was my favorite vehicle in my 50+ years of driving.
So...I stick around and give advice.

I did and now I have a problem where too much of the braking is in the rear

The bolt pattern on the rotors would be different. I don't think the calipers would be any different, but you would obviously want to use ZJ rotors.

Yep, I figured the KJ brakes would work; my wife would have gotten pissed if I took hers though. They're tough to find in this area, so I pilfered a set from a ZJ being parted out locally. And yep, here's a pic of the Magnum wheels on my XJ -

Nice ride! What color blue is that? Is it factory or is it a custom paint job? I may look to repaint my newly purchased 1999 Jeep Cherokee and this color looks great. Hopefully that's an official Jeep color option.

Thanks

Martin

FYI KJ Liberty rear discs are a direct bolt on no mods required, KJs have an 8.25 with discs.

Got any pics with the magnum wheels on your XJ, I love how they look on an xja nd want a set for street wheels.
Would you happen to know if the backing plates are the same thickness? I ask because my XJ have ABS and I am concerned about the ring placement that the sensor monitors in connection to the spacing difference if there is any if I were to use a KJ setup in place of the ZJ..

Thanks

Get a brakes from a doner ZJ w/ ABS and it may work... Just install your XJ sensor into the ZJ housing (or you can try the ZJ sensor -- not sure if they're the same though)... When I did the conversion I used brake components from an ABS equipped ZJ and just cut the wires off and junked the sensors (I don't have ABS).

OK I have a question will a ZJ rotor fit in to the KJ setup to keep the bolt pattern the same.

The ZJ and KJ bolt pattern is the same, both 4.5" x 5. The WJ grand has the 'other' 5" x 5 pattern.
