I'll guess that you have a '97, The fronts should be a bolt in. My '86 required some easy fab work. The rears will require fabricating to fit IIRC.

Great question.

I tried it once with a 96 XJ. Didn't fit. Not even close.

Perhaps it would work with my 99 XJ.

I'm going to investigate this for my 99 XJ.

Are ZJ seats more comfortable?

That is really good info to know. Thanks! I'll start shopping for ZJ seats now.

---

2/3 of the mods I do are to improve comfort.

In hind sight, it would have been cheaper, easier, and less time consuming to have bought a used Landrover Discovery.

But then I'd be hanging out online with a bunch of yuppies at a Rover forum.

I wonder which would be less frustrating?

No use wondering to much. I've bought my XJ, skid plates, suspension lift parts, and new tires. So I'm now in a committed relationship with my XJ and you JF guys.

We're married now.

The trickiest part is converting a ZJ seat for a two door XJ. You have to make the front seats fold forward enough to get backseat passengers in and out. But there are plenty of threads on how to do this out there, so I won't go into details here.
