Jeep Cherokees are amazingly faster than they look, at least the ones with manual transmission. I am by no means saying they are lightning fast, but I have beaten my share of racers in my friends Manual 87' XJ. Its funny people look at you like, "you must be joking" and when you beat them it just makes it so much sweeter. I have never beaten anything like a mustang or close to that, but I have burned a couple ricers
Compared to my automatic 89' XJ, that thing has go, my automatic cant pick up and go worth crap. I can still beat my friends straight piped 91' Honda Accord in it though

Let me clarify.
Jeeps are "quick-for-what-they-are". If you think your XJ is fast, you haven't ridden in anything worth while.

Keep in mind it was a ford.
Plus you have way more torque.

COOL ,
i always like to see other nitrous xj's ..... i'm going to take mine back to the track and try for some 8sec. times in the 8th mile . BTW i raced a 04 5-speed mustang gt . from a dig . on the street. i had him by about a car out of the hole till the 1-2 shift and my driveshaft came out . (broke the bolts that hold the straps to the yolk ) got all this fixed now . (this was on 28in tall x 9in wide slicks ) in 2 wheel drive . BEAVIS417 , arn't you on (streetcarforums.com) ? you need to go wheelin with a few of us . |
