yeah it's understandable, its just like someone telling you how they want something built in there house, but it's always good to give the guy/gal your own opinion in the matter debating on what would be more suitable to the result.
sometimes they change there mind and say "that sounds better" or sometiems they say "im paying you son, do it thatta way"

Oh yeah, nice lookin bumper. Just not sure about the swing down. Might be kinda hard to handle the heavy tire when swinging down, unless I'm not understanding how it works.

Crap, you beat me, nmxj78.
I have a tube fender build write up on this forum titled "XJ bolt on Tube Fenders" This will show you how I built a set.

I agree with Cruzin that the owners ideas aren't very logical but that's how it is when you do something for someone, you do it the way THEY want. The fab work on the other hand can't be ridiculed a bit, that's some damn fine design, bending and welding.....that hatch is definately safe! lol My favorite part of it is just the bumper itself, the tube/plate combo reminds me of the old fullsize Chevy pickup rear bumpers and the blank holes are a nice touch. Looks sharp man, great job!

How thick is the plate you used on the top of the bumper? What kinda tubing did you use? Those rear quarter panel guards are great! Is anyone making them anymore?

It has been awhile but I believe it was a little less than an 1/8". It is 1.75" x .120 wall DOM.

Those particular quarter guards where made by PMW and they are no longer making them. I would recommend Thor4x4 quarter guards. The quarter guards in the picture are .120" (1/8") thick versus Thor4x4's that are .180" (3/16") thick.

Looks good! But I agree, the damn tire is way too high. Good fab job & welding! I just wish that I had a welder, tube bender, and a drill press. I could build all kinds of cool stuff too.

Do you have the specs/lengths/measurements etc. for the rear bumper you made..looks sick! Looking to do the same and a draw up would really help

Its a trail rig! What cop would say anything! its a solid designe. hes got his 2 mirrors. I like the mounting points. i would sill make it a swing designe with similer mounting locations. I gotta give an A++ for workmanship. He seems to be a good Jeepsmith. :cheers2 :

Great job!I know in the state of NJ the Police really care about if you have the license plate so they can see it on the rear.Have had a lot of things block the rear window-not that i try to do it but have never gotten pulled over.My Tomken would block most of the rear window but never got pulled over for it.Great Job none the less.
