This is the complete service manual for the 1999 XJ. There are wiring diagrams for the gasoline and diesel versions. It is 43Mb long.

There were no wiring diagrams in any searches I made. The Chrysler part number for your engine control module is 56041 996 AB. It is apparently made by Bosch and is a EDC MSA 15.5. I also found this as a corresponding part number: 0281001719.

One site I found with these numbers is in your country. Maybe someone there can give you some information:

Sorry I can't help with a diagram.

In the US the 2.5TD VM was never sold, so your questions concerning it won't get many answers.

You might try asking your question in the Australian forum below. There are a lot of VM diesel drivers there and some of them are very knowledgeable.

The fact is, this engine needs to be mounted on a CJ7 and there are some problems adapting the computer.
I saw a forum member who did this engine swap and I hope to get his answer.
However, I will try my luck on the australian forum too.

Thank you again RLE !!

There should be pinout diagrams towards the end of the wiring chapter.

Wire colours and connections for both plugs and sockets are shown.

Down here most engine conversions are done to get rid of the VM2.5TD ... but theres quite a few who like and know a bit about them.
