Windows, radio, all electrical on when Jeep is Off!

I just purchased my Jeep at a used car dealer. Today I realized the radio stays on when the car is off..not a delay, but all the time, then i realized the windows work even when the car is off...ALL THE TIME.

I installed xm radio yesterday but only touched the antena wire and tucked wires but didnt disconnect or force anything..and its all in one spot by the fuse box...even pulled the xm out and still does the same thing.

Anyone have any ideas what would do this, or why someone would want it this way?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Look at your battery. If the hookups are really dirty clean them of all debri. Also try plugging in a computer and seeing if it comes up with anything.

if not. go back to the dealer and talk to them

Just noticed the clock is always on and the power door lock and window lights are glowing even when the truck is locked and off.

Don't remember this being like this when i picked the truck up. is it possible i did something when i hooked up the xm radio? All i did was hook up the antena wire and put the wires under the side panel by the fuse box.

I just took it out and it still does it.

Is it possible the truck was rigged this way for some reason, or to hide another problem?

Thanks.

seems like someone 'rewired' your rig. you have 24 hours to bring it back and make them fix it...legally...then you're on your own.

however, this is not a hard fix, nor will it be expensive...given you have a junk yard available.

remove the wire harness from the interior and replace with new unit...that simple

now, removing the dash, door pannels, headliner, radio, console, seats, carpets, and cutting all the tape that's under there....that will be the hard part.

seriously, check the key ignition switch. it could be going bad.

Thanks, I appreciate the answers...but found out what it is..not sure how they did it, or why its doing it this way, but here's what happened.

The switch for the passenger door window wasnt working when i check out the cherokee. He had it replaced.

I just realized, yesterday i was messing with the window lock button and it wasnt locking the windows.

I must have left it on Unlock when it was originally on Lock. I just put it back to the lock posiition and all the lights went out on the door switches, the clock and the radio doesnt go on unless the key is in...but the passenger window still goes up and down when the trucks off..

Sound like someone messed up the wiring on the switch? But how the hell would that make the windows, clock, radio still work when the trucks off? could a switched wier in the switch do that? how freakin bizzare is that? lol.

Thanks guys..
