Window Regulator Repair?

Has anyone successfully repaired one of the old style window regulators that are notorious for wearing out rather than just buying a new one? The dealer said the Drivers side window regulator for a 98 would run me something like 250 dollars.

i was thinking about making a replacement peice that has teeth made out of some sort of hard epoxy but dont know if it would work. Let me know your thought on the matter if in fact you have any thoughts.

Jeremy

I just replaced mine. Look on your local boards, maybe someone there (possibly someone with a shop) can get you a good deal on one. I paid $188. List was like $280 I believe. Not cheap, but definitely cheaper then the list price straight from the dealership

It's not that hard to replace. I watched my buddy Sean (owns/works at a Glass shop) replace it and it only took about 5 minutes.

Ebay was no help to me last week when I was looking, but like always, stuff changes daily there.
