Window now wont work...why?

I took off my door panel to attempt to see what was causing one window issue i was having on my passenger side front door. When i put the panel back on the window control on that side wouldnt roll it up or down (no sound from the motor either) but the master control on the drivers side still rolls the window up and down fine.

What is Could be causing this and how do I go about correcting it?
Thanks!!:confused::confused:

Pull the rubber boot in between the door and frame. You have a broken wire.

Which panel did you pull?

Are you *sure* the passenger front window switch worked before you did this work? Or is it possible it has been broken for a while, and you just don't use it every day?

im 100% sure the switch worked before i pulled the door panel, pulled passenger front door panel.
Alright i'll look at the boot today

Mine did that but, I had a bad switch in the passenger door.

were u able to repair the switch? if so how?
Or did u break down and buy a new one? If so, did u buy the whole switch (i see for 60-75 bucks), or just the toggle switch portion (which i see for about 10-20 bucks)

passenger door window switch gets power routed from window lock switch on drivers door panel. it is the "yellow" wire at passenger door switch. it should have 12 volts there. it then passes thru passenger window switch depending on selection of up or down.

do the back windows operate normally from their switches?? reason i ask is cause they get their power in same manner. maybe that will help.

cmarshall21 05-08-2013 10:12 AM

bam, yeah the back window switches work fine

check the plug for the passenger door and see if you have 12 volts on yellow wire. if you do then you arent getting that voltage thru your switch when you actuate it. if no voltage on yellow wire(with ignition on of course) then definitely check for break in the yellow wire, inside rubber boot is always a good place for wires to break.
