I am just wondering if my stock '88 timing chain cover will fit the dual roller timing chain that I bought from Hesco that is going on my '94 stroker. Also, anyone happen to know if the downpipe will bolt up (using Clifford headers).
Thanks
Everything was really last minute. It wasn't a planned project, it just happened. Now it just sucks because I am still ordering last minute parts that need to be in before Fri. so he can finish it (hopefully) this weekend. If I had months to research then I would've been a lot better off, but unfortunately I'm trying to get it done pretty quickly so I'm just reading the write-ups I have bookmarked and then asking whatever additional questions my installer has.
I am pretty sure the 88 downpipe wil not bolt up to the header you are talking about, I know it wont bolt up to the OEM 94 manifold. No idea on the difference between a stock timing chain thickness & the roller thickness or how big your new timing gears are, I would say you're just gonna have to test fit this part.
I guess it turns out the timing chain cover should fit (cross my fingers). My installer/mechanic just said he is going to have to custom bend the new exhaust piece, but said it would be no big deal. The good news is all the rest of the parts I need will be in by Wednesday and I am hoping the project will be done by Monday.
