Hello, I am new to this site but not new to jeeps, but in looking for a new engine for my 2000 XJ that has a locked up blown engine I came across some issues.

I found a '93 4.0L for $125.00, and would love to use it. but......

the 1st problem is the coil packs/direct ignition issue on the head, but I think I can fix that, by fabing up some brackets.

the 2nd problem I am concerned about is the exhaust manifold and intake manifold, and computer issues with the head, o2 sensors, etc. are they compatible with my 2000 computer.

The 3rd problem is the block, is it the same, are the ports for the temp sensor and crank sensors the same, and will it work, and what mods are needed for it.

Also can I buy the '93 and just use the short block with a reman 0331 head that is what is on my 2000 4.0L? Because I would still be saving money, because I found a '99 grand cherokee 4.0L that is just like my engine for 700.00 but I think i can buy the 93 for 125 get a new head and for 175.00 and have a good running engine for 300.00.
