You very slowly pour only 1/3 of the can directly into the throttle body. You'll know if your pouring to fast, cuz you'll stall the engine or it will bog down, it will chug when you first start pouring but after that it should be fine unless you get to antsy and pour too fast. I did mine and only did cap fulls at a time. Someone else on the forum suggested to me that you get a funnel with measurements on it, pour the required amount into it, while blocking the hole with your thumb, then slowly letting it out a little at a time by slightly moving your thumb.
Hope that helps.
You can pull a vacuum line too, like the one for the brake booster, and stick in in the can and let it suck it out, too. Try to only let it take half the can, but it shouldn't hurt it to use the whole can. My buddy tossed most of his can in that way since it sucked it in so fast.
As for what it is, it basically takes the carbon out of the engine. How or why I can't explain, it's magic!
sorry for not knowing... but taking the carbon out of the engine will help you pass emissions... right? Someone such as myself with an '01 that passes emissions fine would not benefit from doing this?
It will also help with how it runs, too. If your engine has carbon buildup, cleaning that out will cause it to run smoother and possibly help your performance.
