I'm feeling your pain. I out of nowhere recently have taken a big hit myself in MPG. Gas prices go up and my MPG goes down. Sounds like conspiracy to me

I thought it was just me. Then I got to thinking it's been real hot out and maybe me running the A/C all the time has something to do with it. who knows ... .. .

I have always run premium and get close to 300 miles to a tank.
Now the light has been coming on around 250 miles.

I never run my AC, the weather hasn't been that hot here, I've done mostly highway driving, but I do run regular gas. But I always have. So I don't know. Just seems like the quality has gone way down hill. I might try and run the middle grade and see what happens.

Just turned 120,000 this past weekend. I've never replaced the O2 sensor and I doubt the first owner did either so that could be the culprit. Is there a sure fire way to check your O2 sensor and find out if it is faulty or not? Or is that just a replace and see what happens kind of deal? Thanks for the suggestion. Makes sense but I wouldn't have thought about it.

I personally have never ohmed one out. I have heard/read articles and such on line about ways to do it, but they are pretty elabrate. When mine starts to loose mpg I'll probubly just take the hit and replace it. A shop might be able to do the check, but get a price quote. New O2's go for anywhere from $40-60 depending on year/engine.

Probably a good idea. And would you say replace both? at $40-$60 a piece that kinda sucks. But it'll give me something to do this weekend. Any tips on replacing an O2 sensor?

Let me know where I can buy the o2 sensors for 40.00 or even 60.00 dollars. The cheapest I can find them for is 71.99 before the cat and 74.99 after the cat. Then again for a 95 you might be lucky. Also if you take it to Autozone they will hook up to your computer and let you know which sensors are going bad. Once in a while I'll take mine there and they will hook it up and let me know everything is cool.
