What transmission came in the Cherokee?

I need to know if the TF999 came in the 94 Cherokee? My nephew has a '94 Wrangler with and automatic that tossed the trans. He has the 4.0 I6 in it and I can't find a transmission for a Wrangler anywhere around. I can find a crap load for the Cherokee. If it will bolt in I'll pick one up and put it in for him. Please help!!!!

The AW4 come in the Cherokees with the 4.0. The AW4 is considered a better transmission because it has overdrive and is more durable. You can swap an AW4 into a YJ, but will require some work. Otherwise you will have to find another 32RH, which is what was used in YJ's with the 4.0.

Hope this helps,
