What are Signs of a bad MAP Sensor.

As some of you may have read I am having problems with my 90 XJ.Started out not that bad Sputtering or cutting out at higher RPM's,Then the next day getting much worse.I changed the Following items to see if it would change anything.
Coil,Fuel Filter,Got TPS Checked was OK,Pulled cap seems ok.Wires are newer.Cleaned the throttle body,And Today got a new Cat Converter.Still runs the same but now its stalling too.So my gut and my friends idea is that the Fuel Pump is going out slowly. Was going to have it diagnosed Monday and replaced if nessecary.
Someone mentioned the fuel pressure regulator and the Computer itself..I havent even thought of the MAP sensor until now.My monte carlo had a bad map sensor,It was missing sputtering Running rich and all that.Changed it out and it is fine. Now question is has anyone had there MAP sensor go on there older XJ -87-90?If so do tell what your symptoms were and if they matched my problems at all. Thanks for the help

It might be called a MAF sensor..Im all Confuzzled today

MAP is manifold absolute pressure sensor, and it's located on the firewall behind the valve cover.

MAF is mass air flow sensor and the XJ doesn't have one.

Could be the MAP, check and make sure the vac line to it is in good shape. Also disco the EGR vac line and plug it and see if that helps the idle and the stalling.
