What CCA for a 2000 4.0L?

I just went shopping for a new battery for my XJ. The one in it (bought the vehicle used a few years back) says "550CCA) and its a Mopar.
The auto parts places say I should have at least a 950CCA in this rig.

Anyone know the real CCA required/specified???????????

950cca sounds a little excessive. Optima's don't even have that much.
I run a yellow top in one and a red top in the dd.

Get the one with the greatest CCA that will fit under the hood. CCA is what starts your Cherokee on cold mornings. 950 CCA comes in handy when it's - 30* F outside. 500 amps was the original battery size, but so were tiny little 215/75/15 car tires.

950 it is..............funny thing is that all years except the 2000 call for the 550CCA........the 2000 seems to be an anomaly.............oh well

Just a note............

the 950CCA........if the XJ was a standard I could rock crawl with the starter alone!!!!!! Wow, what a difference.....spins that 4.0 like there was no compression.............real quick starts.

I went cheap $36 at the time for the largest walmart brand battery I could fit in my XJ. I grabbed a tape measure before I left for walmart.
