Run a search for the words "cheap shocks" and you'll find about two dozen threads covering that topic.

SJ Hydros are good.....soft ride, and can take about a 2" lift. About 35.00 a pop.

People on the WJ/ZJ forum use them and they seem to have a reputation for a good ride.

Monroe Sensatrack = soft, reflex = a little stiffer are both decent shocks for the price. I'm running them and they ride nice, however I'm going to change them for something with a little more rebound dampening. My rig is a little bouncy because of the height and the heavy axles. I haven't decided which shocks I'm going to run.

You too? I've had the Reflex shocks on for about 5 weeks and I can't stand the rebound. It's like walking across one of those inflatable bounce houses. My XJ is a stock height UpCountry and even it is too bouncy with these Reflex shocks. The shocks are fine at slow speed and on smooth even roads. Hit any dips at speed and it bounces and wallows too much. I'm trying to decide what else to try.

Once again i am floored at the trouble some are having with the reflex shocks. i experience the complete opposite of the rebound. Nice and quick response in all road conditions.

JK shocks off a newly lifted Wrangler....Ebay for about $20 for all four, with similar shipping, and they'll accomodate around 4" of lift. Also try the For Sale listings on this site.
