Vibration Woes

I hate Vibration.

Alas it can not be avoided when lifting can it.
I'm looking to dampen my vibration even more but am running out of ideas
I have a 99' XJ Sport with a 3.5 - 4" JKS lift ( Shocks, leaf springs w/wedge) An adjustable track bar, sway bar link quick disconnects, 1/2 in transfer case drop, SYE mod for TC, replaced the lower and upper control arms and pitman arm, brand new u-joints front and rear, extendable yoke axles (the front one is getting a little loose) and 33" TOYO Open Country rubbers.

I'm running out of things to adjust/replace to get these vibes down.

Any Ideas?

Why did you keep the tcase drop after you installed the SYE? They SYE is done to remove the drop.

I've got a '99 with 3.5" lift that I did in '00 and over 100K miles ago. No problems. Your tire wear looks irregular from your pics, zerks look dry. You don't say if this just happened, or it's always done it. Is it drive lines related,or wheel balance?

check your ball joints and unit bearings for play. Your tires look a little over inflated based on the wear on the center. Are you 100% sure the tires are balanced? What shape are your motor mounts in? The tranny mount? Are teh cooling fans chewed up? What speeds does this occur?

Currently working on getting a fresh set of tires. Turns out I found a bent former where my track bar hooks up next to my right front tire. Causing the alignment to differ from left to right.

Any speeds above 55 an continuous from there, must of forgotten to take out the drop, some reason i convinced myself it would help not hinder.

Also looked around after reading and found a cracked left engine mount that was dry rotted.

I am pretty sure the majority of your problem is in the tires/rims you are running. besides tires worn out, the only balance that can be done with those rims are a "static" balance. that only takes into effect the up and down movement of the tire. a true balance will be on bothe edges of the rims. this style of rim looks good, but cannot be balanced the best to compensate for vibration, especially when we go bigger and bigger with tires. I would probably try a friends set of soft 8 rims that the tires are balanced and he doesnt have vibration, just to eliminate any other problems on your suspension end. good luck.

Got the rims from a friend, I agree and will probably mount my 35"s on um and use them strictly for crawling. The tranny mounts, bearings and axel play all checked out.

Posting pics on a national Jeep forum, showing your illegally removed catalytic converter, is not such a good idea. It helps give Jeep owners and the off-road community a bad name.
Catalytic converters do little to restrict performance. Get one.
