Vibrating Auxiliary Cooling Fan

I was sitting in my jeep drinking a coffee when the whole thing started to vibrate.. then it stopped.. then it did it again. so I popped the hood and found out that the electric fan that goes on and off every 5 seconds was vibrating pretty bad. Is there anyway I can fix this? or do I just need to buy a new fan?

without being able to see it, I cant offer much help, But what I would do, is remove the fan frome the truck, and hook it up to the battery to see if I can tell why its vibrating, my first guess is that it might be missing a blade....

Or it has mud on it. I thought I was going to die when I first heard mine vibrate. After washing the goo off, it worked properly again.

wow someone replied... well earlier today I took it off and found a crack in it... so I threw on a glob of superglue and it helped a TON.. but I still dont like the fact that its probably going to come apart and rattle again.. can I buy just the fan or do I have to buy the whole assembly?

You could always get a Flex-a-lite 110 and connect it to the stock power lines. They cost $110 and require a little cutting. But then you would actually be able to get your arm in to change the belts without pulling anything apart. Otherwise keep an eye open on ebay. I found one guy selling one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2440781909
If you get a stocker make sure it is a newer one. They cool better than the pre-96 models.
