Unofficial Mother of all Climate Control Issues Thread!

I've been seeing a lot of climate control issues lately, mainly the lack of heat, so I though it might be a good idea to get a Symptom/Solution kind of thing going. Maybe someday I'll have my first sticky here...

Problem: Cold air out vents on all heat settings
Solution: Confirmed Solution Needed! Possible Solution Below
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/heater-blows-cold-air-while-driving-just-warm-air-when-sitting-654680/

Problem: More heat wanted
Solution: Flush the heater core, possibly replace heater control valves and thermostat, reroute older cooling hoses to remove vacuum powered heater control valve.
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/heater-help-630448/

Problem: Fan only works on the highest setting.
Solution: Replace Blower Motor Resistor Pack
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/blower-motor-resistor-206575/

Problem: Blower Blows fuses, not air
Solution: Replace Blower
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/heater-blower-1995-cherokee-617401/

Problem: Air only blows out of the defrost vents.
Solution: Check vaccum line running from the vaccum cannister in the front bumper, along the firewall, and to the intake manifold. They get brittle with age and crack in a million different places. Can be taped (duct tape, seriously), or a better solution is to just replace them with rubber hose, not plastic.

Problem: AC Compressor Squeals
Solution: Tighten serpentine belt, or replace AC belt, bearings, or whole compressor.
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/ac-belt-656729/

Problem: Engine runs too cool (~170F) for adequate heat
Solution: Place a chunk of cardboard behind the grill to block airflow and bring the temp up to about 210F. Remove some if it runs too hot. Replace thermostat.

Problem: No A/C on a renix (87-90) I6
Solution: Electrical diagnostics: http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl515f.htm If no electrical fault is found, the A/C must be serviced by someone with a license to handle the refrigerant (e.g. a shop, sorry).

Problem: Blinkers weak with blower on
Solution: Clean fuses of corrosion, clean ground on LH shock tower (FSM says the B3 splice leads there). Mostly fixed.

Always remember to burp your system before banging your head over aproblem!

One more to add...

Definitely will be back to this topic once the Jeep is out of the garage.

My heat is totally abysmal. Heater core flush first, thermostat second, I think.

Thanks!

Working on a solution for the "no blinkers when using headlights and the heater" issue now. It's one that has bugged me on a few jeeps. Darn voltage drops.

Edit: Cleaning all the fuses and the ground just forward of the washer bottle (on a renix) on the left shock tower mostly fixed it. With the dome lights, headlights, and fogs on the blinkers work with the blower on all but the highest setting.
