u bolt sizes?

I am installing a lift...rustys 3 inch full packs..no u bolts in kit. I asked advance for dana 35 u bolts and they said they need measurements? What size u bolts do I use?? I know I could have measured the axle but I was lazy and was hoping someone knew off the top of their head. Thanks

I believe for the 35 you would use 2.75" x 9"

I told advance that I think its a 2.75 x 9 and they told me it was too small for the cherokee, which makes me wonder how they know when they are asking ME for the measurements and I have told them?? Doesnt make sense, did some research and RE sells them 2.75 x 9 also so I think its right. I am just gonna pul one u bolt when I do the install and bring it down to advance..if no luck there I will try the dealership that is like 2 miles down the road, hopefuly they would have them, why couldn't I have ordered them from rustys!?

Isn't there a decent spring shop near you? They would be able to make a set quickly, and know the correct size.

D35 = 2.62 inches
D44 = 2.75 inches
8.25 = 3 inches

I called rustys and they said dana 35 is 2 7/8 but 2 3/4 will fit its just tighter at the threaded end, you will have to pull it apart a little. Thanks guys

The 2 3/4 inch u bolts were too big for the dana 35. I ended up reusing the old ones, once I get the right ones I will repalce them then. They are suppossed to be 2.62 inch like you said. Thanks

I called Rustys to ask about the U bolts and they said that 2 3/4 is the right size?? I dunno, they said no matter what do not reuse the old u bolts, so I am just gonna put on the U bolts that I got from an off road center near my home. Something about the old ones being a lesser grade quality and they stretch over time and its better to just use the newer one even if they are not snug around the axle tube, there was about a centimeter of play. I hope it will be all right since I cannot find any smaller u bolts unless I get some stock lower quality u bolts from 4wd hardware.
