TV Cable, Kickdown Cable

I have a newbie question.I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee with and automatic tranny and I just noticed that my TV cable is frayed, I ordered a new one but in the meantime, if I am driving and the cable breaks, can I still drive it home? Will I have to manually shift it or do I have to leave it parked?

Thanks so much

You can safely drive it anywhere you want to.
The TV cable only lets the box shift harsher when you hit the throttle, without cable it keeps shifting smoothly (not recommended when you hit the throttle).

I've never tried in a jeep but my truck wouldn't shift past 2nd when my cable broke. Best case it will just shift thru tge gears fast no matter throttle input
