tube fenders

Has anyone made or seen any tube fenders for the XJ? I'm considering making some but would like to see if I have anyone else's info to start from. I'm talking about removing the entire fender and replacing it with tubing and a little sheet metal. I'm thinking also of tying it into an external cage. Tell me what you think.

you could do something along those lines but follow the door better than skin it using these

Z-Locks

when i do my front fenders that is what i'm doing.

Awesome... I agree that it could be much more flush with the door. I'd also like to put some sheet metal in the gaps just for looks. I should have mine made in a month or so... Thanks for the help
