Tube Door

Got most of the fabrication on my tune door done today...

Yea, i havent put a latch on yet so its held shut by a bungee
I did the lower bend with a vice, acetelyne torch , and a smaller tube
I used the crappy skool bender for the top tube, hence the nice lil kink in it.
for the latch, im thiknin either a fence latch, or a spring loaded pin with a tab on the end that goes thru the verticle part of the 90* bend into the body, then you turn it to make sure it stays closed (the tab would act as a key to keep it shut)

Looks good! Could ya use a factory latch mounted to the door. You could engineer a cable that could run along the top tube (similar to a bicycle) and have a little loop to pull on and release the latch.

Once everything is set up, get that sucker powercoated, or rhino-lined and paint the latch the same color. Done right I think it would look pretty sano. Good Work!

Looking good man. I used a gate latch on mine and it works really well i can throw the door back and it will catch. I can show you some pics if you want. They rattle a little bit but work well

yea i think it is illegal to ride with no mirror but thats why i put the lil triangle gusset on there for mounting it (whenever i buy it lol)
You think i should bed line it (i should have extra whn i do my quarter panels) or give it a flat or semi black paint job?
