Trimming fenders and installing a lift?
Im wondering how long a 4.5" lift would take to install? Im no mechanic but I have done lots of different things like changing an oil pan out of a 4X4 stick shift, changing a clutch in the same truck, motor mounts, Brakes, Track bar and stabalizer links etc...
Also how do you trim fenders, with a sawsall? Do I cut slits and fold it back or what? I have no clue how to do it? And then are bushwackers easy to install afterwards? Thanks guys

for the lift it can vary depending on your available tools and equipment, I would budget a weekend if it's your first time
I did my fenders with an angle grinder, I just cut the metal down to 1 inch away from where I wanted to fold it and then hammered it over, it's not super pretty but the flares hide it |

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/write-up-cutting-folding-rear-fenders-632436/ The front fenders can be cut right off, wherever you want them to be cut. You will have to remove the inner fenders. The lift will depend on what tools you have, how steady you stay at it, and how many problems you encounter. I would plan a weekend for the lift just to be safe.

my 6" lift took me, by myself, atleast 12 hours, but that included my ATTEMPT at driveway alignment.
IMO, get a case and a buddy, and set asside an entire weekend for the install. |
