I am guessing auto. And no that is not normal. Sounds to me like shift flare.

Auto Tranny, RWD.

I just it serviced at Tire Kingdom 2 days prior to the noise starting checking and topping off the fluids was part of the service package. I had been in a spin out due to collision avoidance on Memorial Day.

What type of fluid was installed ? The AW-4 automatic trans uses Dexron-III/Mercon. Incorrect trans fluids can cause shifting issues or a whine.

I will have to look at the invoice, I just had them top it off. I did not know about the specific transmission fluid until your post. Thanks.

If they did use wrong stuff it is blessing and a curse. I will get a free transmission flush and new fluid but the downside is I will have to sit in the lobby again.
