Do you mean a D44? What do you mean it dosnt fit? That is the T-case you need. I have a AX15 tranny also and the NP231 also so... was your 231 out of a jeep?

not sure on the 5 spd but the autos have a different main shafts that won't allow you to just bolt on a TC

the transfer case does not fit. on my tranny i have an electric speedo and when i took the end of my tranny where the transfer case is supposed to fit my gear shifter and all came with it it is like one piece. and the transfer i got doesnt have that and it has a wire speedo. i got it out of a 1993 jeep cherokee everyone i talked to said it would fit but it doesnt and i hope i just didnt waste the money on that transfer case. if u need ill send u a pic of the part i think i need

Go ahead and post the link of the pic. And it sounds like you need the 231 t case with a different spline count in the output shaft. There are two different spline counts for the output shaft either 21 or 23. You may have the wrong one.

i think i need the middle piece where the gear shifter is. cause the transfer case doesnt have all that on it. someone told me i need the shifter control tower but i cant seem to find one anywhere.
