Tranny cooler line repair...

So the oil line from the tranny to the cooler is leaking where the crimmped connection is. The spot where the metal tubing goes to rubber hosing. The local Vatozone here can order one of the lines I need, but not the other line. My question is should I hunt down all the lines, which could almost be around $100, or should I take a flare tool and cut the crimp off, flare the hard line and use hose clamps. Ive heard it will work....Any body do this or have suggestions?

Double hose clamp and transmission cooler line FTW! Don't use regular hose. I got some stuff at Napa rated for transmission fluid. 4000PSI rated and able to handle the heat and fluid.

Thanks I was sort of hesitant because me and a buddy burned down a 1500 he bought when the cooler line came undone. The line was fixed the way I want to fix it, just no flare. I found out that ATF flashpoint is the same temprature as a Chevy 350 normal operating temprature. So flare it with two hose clamps. Im not going to completely remove the rubber hose so Ill jsut cut off the crimp and flare the old line. If I had to replace both ends of the same line, then i would have to get some rubber hosing specific for hi-temp and pressure oil?

I bought two new lines from rockauto.com for around $45.

It's called transmission cooler hose. Perfect for the application in question.
