I work for a County Sheriff's Office as a Classification / Gang Specialist in the jail. So I make a living, but I don't make a lot of money if that is what you are asking. That's one reason why its taken me 7 years or so to get the Jeep to this level. Yeah it would have been cheaper in the long run to do it all once, instead of jumping up lift heights and tire sizes, but its been a little at a time. I remember putting in extra overtime to stash money away to feed my addiction.

Dude, silver or Ford 'dark shadow grey' would be a perfect color. Hides all kinds of dirt and looks amazing. I can go weeks without washing my stang and you can't even tell from 10 feet away. Silver also hides scratches very well. Definitely would be unique on an XJ.
Oh btw, have I told you how badass this build is? Looks awesome. I really need to learn to weld...

I remember you posted somewhere the exact (military?) paint code you used. If you have it can you post it again for me? Also I should say, since I have been driving the Jeep for a couple days, I REALLY love the way the exhaust sounds. With the doors on I hear it noticeably at idle and at lower rpms and does have a very nice deep sound to it. On the highway it is not very loud at all.

I used krylon camo paint...it worked out really well for a nice even coat as long as you take your time. very basic prep was all it needed...i.e. i just scuffed the existing paint with a light grit sandpaper

I gotta question for you if you dont mind answering it. Just about to put my T&T frame stiffners on and pondering on my lift. I see you went with T&T and I was curious in your opinion is it much more superior than rubicon express long arm lift. Im doing the math and I can get the RE with shocks to my door for around 2000, the T&T kit will cost more like 3000 with shocks and shipping, so is it worth it? Also do you think the frame stiffners will cause a problem with a RE long arm install, since you added 3/16 of metal onto the unibody frame? I am going to do the temper mental plates like you did, and i am wondering about puttin the JKS steering brace system on or should I stick with like the CROK plates or what? I know this is an area I need to beef up. Not trying to hijack your build thread, just wanting your opinion since you been doing this for a while, and hell you gotta book. Sounds like a DR. in XJologoy to me.
